About Us

In 2003, Ben started Nissen Construction in the suburbs of Des Moines, Iowa.  From 2003 - 2019, Ben personally built and managed a wide variety of projects.  From building new homes from the ground up to complex renovations.  Ben has a wide range of experience in the residential construction field.   His wife, Lisa worked for the Iowa DNR for ten years and quit in 2011 to join the family business and assist with project management, design work and all things office. Ethan, Avery and Emerson are always great moral support and have spent many hours "helping" at the job sites.

In the summer of 2019, Ben and Lisa decided to take one year off from the business and move the family to Grand Rapids MN to work for his brother-in-law at Grooms Property Services as the sales and operations manager.  That one year turned into 3.5 years.  While working on several remodeling projects part time, Ben felt like it was time to put his tool belt back on full time.  

For marketing purposes, Nissen Construction Inc. (est. 2003) is doing business as White Pine Homes & Renovations.
